This is a unique opportunity to acquire a rare collection of Taylor guitars and memorabilia - the Taylor Liberty Tree guitar and its matching Baby Taylor, along with rare memorabilia and case candy.

Both of these guitars were built in 2002, from the last remaining Liberty tree from Annapolis, Maryland which was felled by Hurricane Floyd in 1999. The Liberty trees were trees in communities in the 13 original colonies that formed the United States in 1776. Colonists would gather under the trees to plan their rebellion against the British, becoming symbolic with the freedom that came in 1776.

Approximately 30,000 lbs of the felled tree were offered to Bob Taylor who swiftly accepted and purchased the wood. After more than a year in development, the Liberty Tree Guitar was born.

Taylor built 400 Grand Concert models with this coveted timber, one for each year of the tree's age. Not wanting to waste any of the wood, Taylor also used smaller pieces to build the back and sides of a short run of Liberty Baby Taylors.

The Liberty and Liberty Baby both feature Sitka spruce tops adorned with pre-revolutionary war flag rosettes and 13 stars for the 13 colonies. The former is also decorated with a laser-etched declaration of independence scroll inlay that runs from the Sitka top up the fretboard as well as a post-revolutionary war US flag inlayed on its headstock.

Both guitars are in mint condition with very little play-time and included Taylor branded hard case (Liberty) and padded gigbag (Liberty Baby). Additionally, this collector's set includes a Liberty Guitar Certificate of Authenticity handsigned by Bob Taylor, a Taylor Liberty Guitar t-shirt (unworn), case candy and a VHS of the full-length documentary 'The Liberty Tree Guitar: Tracing The Roots of American Freedom'.

This collection commemorates US independence is a wonderful way. With the 250th anniversary of American independence coming up in 2026, these guitars hold even more significance than ever before.
