Collection: O'Gorman Guitars

Hailing from Redruth, Cornwall, UK, Brendan O'Gorman is quickly building himself a reputation as one to watch in the world of British lutherie.

Having combined his passion for guitars with his woodworking talent, Brendan offers two original models that take influence from tradition but sit on the more modern side of lutherie thanks to features such as Florentine cutaways and fan frets.

Moir

O'Gorman's Moir model (pronounced 'moy-er') is Brendan's take on a traditional OM, but with a wider lower bout which, when combined with the tight waist and narrow upper bout, gives a more rounded tone but with the mids and sparkly trebles one would expect from an OM.

While a typical OM has a 14-fret neck-to-body join, the Moir is offered with either a 12 or 13-fret neck-to-body join which pushes the bridge further down into the lower bout which Brendan calls the 'sweet spot'.

All of Brendan's guitars are offered with a variety of upgrade options, including different wood combinations, Florentine cutaway and multi-scale fan-fret and comfort bevels.

Newlands

The Newlands is Brendan's take on a traditional Dreadnought, but has a tighter waist which adds warmth to the scooped mid-range.

The Newlands is a big-sounding instrument that has great presence as a solo instrument while also acting superbly as an accompaniment to a voice due to it taking up space in the mix but not competing with the voice thanks to its aforementioned scooped mids.
