This Model S was built by RH Guitars luthier Rob Hodgson in 2023, and has been exhibited at guitar shows in the UK in 2024, and we're excited to offer this gorgeous guitar for sale on our Marketplace.
It's not often that a luthier is present at the felling of the tree in which they've used to build a guitar with, but Rob Hodgson can stake that claim, as the tree was felled in woodland in his native Derbyshire that had been purchased by local residents to prevent developers from destroying the area, however one particular sycamore tree needed to be felled as it was growing through power lines.
Rob was present at the time it was felled - hugging it before the first cut and taking some of the logs back to his workshop where, with the help of his father, he milled the logs and air-dried them for six years before using them for building guitars.
The Model S is the smallest of the three that Rob offers, and it provides an intimate playing experience thanks to its small footprint. It's extremely comfortable to sit back and play on the lap while, tonally, the guitar has a rich complexity in the mids and trebles while also having a wonderful bass response.
This is an ex-demo model in near-mint condition with no notable play wear and includes a Hiscox hard shell case.
