We're very excited to receive our first instrument from Chris & Jeremy Jenkins - aka Lame Horse Instruments - and even more so that it is their iconic Gitjo model.
As the name suggests, this is a cross between a banjo and a guitar, with six strings tuned in standard guitar tuning, but with the body construction of a 12" open-back banjo. If you’ve always wanted to play a banjo but didn’t want to learn a whole new instrument, the Gitjo is the answer
This particular Gitjo has a 23" scale length, which provides a more intimate-feeling instrument than previous Gitjo builds. The American Red bird’s eye maple guitar neck is incredibly comfortable, and the slotted headstock is a great rustic inclusion.
Decoratively, the Gitjo has tasteful appointments including a mother of pearl magnetic truss rod cover and a black pearl covered tailpiece. The Gitjo includes a Crossrock fibreglass case.
- 12" mahogany rim
- 23" guitar scale length
- Hard American red bird’s eye maple neck with slotted headstock, with truss rod and carbon fibre reinforcement
