Dave Gregory Custom Model in Pearwood & Spruce
Dave Gregory Custom Model in Pearwood & Spruce
Share
This Custom Model by the late Dave Gregory was built in 1992 but is in excellent condition for its 32 year age.
Little is known about both the luthier and this guitar, and we believe that the unusual-looking back and sides wood on this instrument is pearwood, which is complemented by a spruce top.
This is a lot of guitar for under £3k. A comfortable mahogany neck is topped by an ebony fretboard bound in ivoroid and decorated with Mother of Pearl inlays. The decoration continues with an abalone rosette.

About the Luthier
Dave Gregory was an English guitar and mandolin maker. He established his company Dave Gregory Guitars and Mandolins in York in 1978. In the following years he made a wide range of instruments both traditional and modern, as well as doing repair and restoration work. Dave Gregory died on 11 March 2016, and in a celebration of his life at York Cemetery Chapel, many people brought along their Dave Gregory hand-built instruments.
